The 16th Annual World Congress of the Human Proteome Organisation, the HUPO 2017, was held in the Convention Centre in the heart of Dublin, Ireland, from 17th to 21th of September. About 950 participants from academia and industry were attracted by the Congress to discuss new proteomic approaches in the field of health, disease and ageing.

New trends in proteomic research

The HUPO Congress brought together world leaders in the proteomic field with application experts and the young generation of scientists. Here, the attendants shared their expertise by giving talks and presenting posters and expanded their professional knowledge by participating plenaries, symposia and meetings with experts.

Since the role of proteomics in the areas of drug development und point of care testing steadily increases, this year was a strong focus on the application of proteomics in biopharmaceutical protein production and as diagnostic tool.

Besides the scientific part of the HUPO a varied and greatly organised social program with e.g. daily Early Morning Jogging Tours, the Literary Pub Crawl and the Gala Evening in the famous “Guinness Storehouse” was offered.

Our conclusions

We from Biametrics thank the organisers for a great conference in Dublin and for giving us the opportunity to exhibit our new applications and devices. In addition, many thanks to all visitors at our booth as well as our poster and the interesting discussions we had with you! We recognised that innovative bioanalytical applications and instruments for high-throughput analyses of biomolecular interactions are requested by the scientists. We are happy to work with you on the success of your applications and looking forward to the next HUPO Conference in 2018.
